Quilts, Quilts, Quilts!

Good Afternoon! If you love quilts and home decor this is the blog post for you! My quilt group "Bits and Pieces" met today for our monthly meeting. Today we were  at Rita's home. I had shared with you on a previous post that we would be visiting Rita's home soon and so here it is!! Woo hoo, if you love to decorate with your quilted treasures hold on the your hats you are in for a treat!!
I chose to begin with this framed quilt which hangs over the couch in Rita's living room. This picture does not do justice to this amazing piece. The floral pieces on the bottom are all appliqued on and all the quilting in the white area is custom, it is just plain gorgeous!!
Meet Jackson (love the name) He is 10 and spending a week with his grandma Marianne. He is reading his Kindle and deep into the story! He is one of the most polite, well behaved 10 year olds I have met in a very long time. We hardly knew he was there!
These are boxes painted with a quilt design in the living room.

A cute stack of small doll quilts ....

Rita has so many quilts she can decorate with them for holidays! This is a display of "some" of her patriotic quilts.
Little framed quilts in the kitchen, love it!

Large framed quilt hanging in the hall ...

A bookcase chock full of quilts!
The guest bath ...

A framed English Paper Pieced Quilt leaning on the counter.
This is the place where the magic happens! Rita's sewing room.

The quilts hanging to the right are all in process of being finished or created!!

Here is a copper boiler holding what else?? Quilts!

Patterns, books and binders ...
Perfect use of quilts to conceal ugly cords!
Some quilts in a trough, under the trough and draped over a ladder leaning on the wall.
Good friends, Rita and Penny

Not much quilting getting done is there??
Sani making herself a cup of coffee to get herself going.

Our hosts for the day, Marianne (Jackson's grandma) and Rita
Food!! Yum, Chinese Chicken Salad, Sushi, Vegetable Rice Salad

And what did I do all day besides take pictures you ask?? Well, remember the blocks I have been working on?
These little pinwheel blocks are being made from the scraps of the Civil War Summer Sampler ...

Getting put together ...
So what did I do today?? I finished the mini quilt and put the binding on the quilt I am donating to a Breast Cancer fund raiser in the fall. See that cute little pink cradle? It is full of my birthday fat quarters from the girls!
A close up! Just look at all those lovely colors. Wait until you see the little cradle next time ....
Thank you again to our hosts Rita and Marianne, it was such a wonderful fun day!!
