San Juan Capistrano or Bust!!

Bright and early Tuesday morning Amy and I loaded Austin and Karlee onto the Amtrak train and headed south to Capistrano! Home to the historic Mission built by Father Serra and twice destroyed by California earthquakes. This quaint town remains a popular place for tourists to visit ... so today we are tourists!

Austin and Karlee are settling into their seats for the 45 minute ride south. First stop ... Angels Stadium! Karlee was so excited to see the Big A up close!

Amy's in her seat as well and all smiles, she has never visited Capo either so this will be a first for her too!
Our first stop was a souvenir shop! Of course we needed to do some shopping1 How do you like my new hat?? Perfect fit!! Karlee got a cute purple purse and some mints while Austin was excited about the arrowheads and scorpions encased in a resin cube! Yikes, so ugly! While we were at the shop there was a movie star visiting as well, Ryan Gossling. However, I'm not a good star spotter and didn't even recognize him. It wasn't until he walked outside and the shop owner said "do you know who that was?" I guess when you grow up in SoCal it's just no big deal to see a star!

My little guy is ready to go, is bag of goodies, a Starbucks blended drink and he's set to go!

We visited the local park so the kids could run off some pent up energy .. just love these two kids ...

Amy and I needed a sugar break, homemade carrot cakes with cream cheese icing ... OMG so good!
The kids aren't much for sugar (are they real kids???) so they had Sun Chips, one happy boy!

Coming down the spiral pole ... notice the new purse on her hip! So darn cute!
By 2:15 we were back on board the train headed north to Fullerton. All four of us were pooped, especially grandma!
