So. Cal Quilt Run 2012

At 7:30 this morning it was confirmed ... I was going to Temecula to visit my favorite quilt shops and join in on the "run." For those that don't know, a run is when numerous shops in an area group together and form an event to entice their customers (like me) to run from store to store to get little stamps on a paper and enter contests to win amazing quilting goods. If you go to ALL the shops, and their are lots of them you get to enter into the grand drawing which is usually an awesome sewing machine. Early this morning I heard from my friend Tanya that she could meet me at 10 in Temecula and "run around" with me. We started our venture at the
Temecula Quilt Co.
Meet Sheryl Johnson, she is the owner of Temecula Quilt Co. and one very talented lady.

On the run we are given a pattern for a block, this year Sheryl chose the red house in the center for her store. Isn't this so very cute???
Registration! See the quilted item to the left of Sheryl sitting on the table? This is chock full of great things that I am going to win. I LOVE the custom basket it's all packed into. Sheryl pieced the entire basket! I also love the Civil War Star quilt she has displayed on the table. Such a great little shop.
Stop #2 ... The Quilters Coop. Meet Lori! She was really tired of me by the time I finally left. It took me 4, yes 4 visits in and out to finally leave. This shop has so much fabric it makes your head swim!

I snapped a photo of this little vignette because all the fabrics were so darn cute. Little kids, bright yellows and greens, very fun.

My side of the store ... the Civil War/1880's Reproduction side. This is where fabric tells a historical story of the great USA!
Our next stop was Granny's Attic. A gigantic antique store and an all time favorite of mine.
I was very good and contained myself to one purchase and I love it.
A very vintage Longaberger basket! This is dated 1986  and it's something I have NEVER seen before! This is a Classic Spring basket with an attached hinged lid. I have seen many baskets in my day but never one of these!

The classic Longaberger burned logo and the date 1986. My "vintage" collection is continuing to grow, this one is number 6!! Everyone knows I need another basket ....

Our next stop was lunch at Rosa's Cantina. They make home made corn or flour tortilla's right in front of your eyes and they are so good. I had a beef enchilada with sour cream sauce, oh my this is the very best sauce ever
And we couldn't leave town without a stop at the local McDonald's! Yep, I needed my Vanilla Iced Coffee to get me home. Thanks Tanya, it was a great day!
OH! I almost forgot ... Tanya has jumped in, she bought two little quilt projects. One is all hand stitch sewing and the other she will need a machine! She's been bit by the quilt bug!! Woo goo.
